Jet Lag Recovery Support — Spring, TX

Long-haul flight. Multiple time zones. Body says 3am, sun says noon. The fastest way back to a real schedule is the right combination of light, temperature, and timing — not melatonin alone.

What’s going on

Jet lag is a circadian misalignment — your internal clock is on origin time, your external environment is on destination time. The recovery is about giving your body strong external cues to re-anchor: bright light, temperature contrast, meal timing.

Cold plunge in the destination’s morning, red light therapy in the evening, and sauna for sleep onset support is a 24-48-hour reset stack many traveling members run.

Common signs people describe

  • Just flew across multiple time zones
  • Wide awake at 3am local time
  • Falling asleep at the dinner table
  • Need to function in 24-48 hours
  • Energy and mood scrambled
  • Travel-related digestive issues

How we support jet lag recovery at Elevate BioWellness

A 24-48 hour reset protocol.

Cold Plunge (destination morning)
Cold exposure has been studied for noradrenergic activation; may serve as a strong morning circadian anchor.

Red Light Therapy (destination evening)
Red-wavelength evening exposure may support melatonin signaling without circadian disruption.

Infrared Sauna (pre-bed first night)
Pre-bed passive heating is associated with faster sleep onset — useful when fighting time-zone misalignment.

Important: Persistent jet lag-like symptoms beyond a week or two of return travel can indicate underlying sleep disorders. If recurring travel disrupts your health, discuss with your physician. These modalities are wellness support, not medical treatment for circadian disorders.

What the research says

Peer-reviewed studies on the modalities used in this protocol. We share these for educational context, not as claims that any therapy will produce a specific result for you.

Adapted cold shower as a potential treatment for depressive symptoms
Pilot work suggested cold-water exposure stimulates noradrenaline and beta-endorphin release, with self-reported mood improvements.

Effects of warm-water immersion before sleep on sleep onset
Passive heating 1-2 hours before bedtime was associated with faster sleep onset and improved sleep efficiency in a meta-analysis of 17 studies.

Frequently asked questions

Should I come the day I land?

Many members do — within 4-6 hours of landing, after rehydrating. The cold + sauna combo is most-booked.

Does sunlight outside work too?

Yes — natural morning sunlight is the gold standard. Cold plunge is an additive anchor.

Best for east-bound vs. west-bound?

Both. East-bound (advancing the clock) tends to be harder; the protocol helps in both directions.

What about kids/family with jet lag?

We don’t run children’s protocols. Adults only.

Cost?

Single sessions: cold plunge $25, red light $35, sauna $25. Or use a Standard membership.
