What’s going on

Cognitive performance is a high-bar topic for wellness — the published research is real but the effect sizes vary widely by population. Healthy adult cognition responds modestly to many interventions; clinical populations (post-stroke, post-COVID) show larger effects in randomized trials.

The two modalities with the more developed cognitive research bases at the studio are hyperbaric oxygen (multiple RCTs in clinical populations, supporting research in healthy adults) and photobiomodulation/red light (mitochondrial mechanism). We’ve built a cognitive-stack around them.

Important: Cognitive concerns can indicate sleep issues, thyroid dysfunction, neurological conditions, or other medical issues that require evaluation. We do not ‘treat’ cognitive disorders. These modalities are wellness optimization, not medical treatment.

Hyperbaric oxygen induces neuroplasticity in post-stroke patients
Randomized trial of higher-pressure (~2 ATA) clinical HBOT in stable post-stroke patients showed improvements in neurocognitive function and brain perfusion. Wellness HBOT uses different chambers and pressures and is not equivalent to the clinical protocols studied.
