CrossFit Recovery — Spring, TX

CrossFit Recovery — Spring, TX

5 days a week. Heavy days. Met-cons that destroy you. CrossFit volume catches up. The Athlete Recovery Protocol is what our box members run between training sessions.

What’s going on

CrossFit’s mixed-modal high-intensity profile creates a specific recovery challenge: muscle damage from lifts plus metabolic load from met-cons plus connective-tissue stress from gymnastic work. Recovery modalities help compress the window between sessions.

The named $60 Athlete Recovery Protocol is our most-popular athletic recovery stack — and it’s been heavily used by our box-affiliated members.

Common signs people describe

  • Training 4-5+ times per week
  • Heavy-day soreness compromising met-con days
  • Hands, joints, lower back stressed from volume
  • Want sustainable training pace
  • Recovering harder as you get older
  • Looking for non-pharmaceutical inputs

How we support crossfit recovery at Elevate BioWellness

The Athlete Recovery Protocol — $60 / 30 min.

PEMF Therapy
Musculoskeletal research base; many CrossFit members rotate it through.

Lymphatic Compression
Compression boots — used widely by athletes for legs-heavy recovery.

Cold Plunge
Inflammation perception research; time it away from peak-strength sessions if hypertrophy is the goal.

Important: High-intensity training carries injury risk. Severe symptoms including dark urine, severe swelling, or rapid weakness can indicate rhabdomyolysis — seek medical care immediately. These modalities are recovery support, not injury treatment.

What the research says

Peer-reviewed studies on the modalities used in this protocol. We share these for educational context, not as claims that any therapy will produce a specific result for you.

Effect of post-exercise cold-water immersion on inflammation markers
Cold-water immersion after exercise was associated with reduced perception of muscle soreness and lower circulating inflammatory markers in trained men.

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy for pain and function in knee osteoarthritis
Meta-analysis of 16 RCTs found PEMF reduced pain and stiffness compared with placebo in knee OA.
Yang et al, Bioelectromagnetics, 2020 · PubMed

Intermittent pneumatic compression for lymphedema and post-exercise recovery
Pneumatic compression devices have shown benefit in reducing limb volume in lymphedema and may aid post-exercise recovery via venous return.

Frequently asked questions

Will cold plunge blunt my strength gains?

Some research suggests frequent post-resistance cold may blunt hypertrophy adaptation. If maxing strength, time cold away from session window.

Best frequency?

2-4x per week is what most CrossFit members run.

What about hand and grip recovery?

Red light and PEMF members find useful for grip-fatigue and minor connective issues. Major issues — see PT.

Is sauna useful?

Some members add infrared sauna for general recovery; others find it adds load. Try it.

Cost?

$60 single session of the named Athlete Recovery Protocol. Standard membership ($239/mo) covers regular usage.
