Hormonal Acne, Adult Acne & Maskne Support — Spring, TX
Jawline breakouts that show up around your cycle. Adult acne that wasn’t supposed to be a thing in your 30s. Mask-related breakouts and stress flares. The science on light therapy for acne is real — and we’ve built a clinical-style facial protocol around it.
What’s going on
Adult and hormonal acne is different from teenage acne — typically inflammatory, often along the jawline and chin, frequently linked to hormonal cycles, stress, and skin barrier disruption. Standard teen-acne products often make it worse.
Light therapy (both blue and red wavelengths) has a published research base in acne management — Cochrane has reviewed the evidence. We pair LED-based facials with esthetician-led extraction and barrier care for a more complete protocol.
Maskne & Stress Breakouts
Maskne — acne mechanica from prolonged mask wear — and stress breakouts share an inflammatory pattern: barrier disruption plus elevated cortisol-driven sebum production plus localized friction or occlusion. Aggressive acne products often make it worse. The same Calm and Clarify protocol calms maskne and stress breakouts; we sometimes pair it with stress modalities (PEMF, sauna) when the underlying-state work matters.

Frequently asked questions
Will sauna make my acne worse?
Some members yes, some no — depends on skin type and post-sauna routine. Shower thoroughly after; avoid sweat sitting on skin.
Is this safe with prescription acne medication?
Most members on topical retinoids or oral antibiotics are fine; some isotretinoin protocols restrict certain treatments. Discuss with your dermatologist.
How often should I come?
Acne facials typically every 3-4 weeks; LED light therapy can be more frequent (2-3x per week).
Can this replace my dermatologist?
No. We’re a wellness studio. Cystic, scarring, or treatment-resistant acne needs dermatologic care.
Will sauna help or hurt maskne?
Depends on skin type. Some members find post-sauna shower routines improve maskne; others find sweat-on-skin worsens it. Try carefully and shower thoroughly after.
Cost?
Esthetician facial pricing — contact the studio. Single red light session $35.
